Signs: Smoking Area

@ mirandablue
A sign outside a mall. Last month, MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) started implementing its drive against smoking in public places.  MMDA teams arrested several people caught still puffing away in various areas.  Offenders insisted they were not aware of the anti-smoking drive (even after months of information campaign).  I hope MMDA would impose stiffer penalties.

It is a good thing to stop people from smoking in public.

I find it amazing how quickly people have adapted to only being able to smoke outside here - even at their own homes! It's a good thing.

It is so interesting that so many of the places around the world are going to No Smoking....and I love it. I am very allergic to the stuff. I my little closet room at school I have NO windows. The minute one of the students walks in I can smell the smoke permeating their clothing. Sometimes it is so bad I dive hem spray deodorant and Fabreeze trying to lessens the smell. I definitely like this post.

I love the sign. It might as well say, "Commit Suicide Here." Smoking is horrible. Thanks for this post. So needed!

We need more signs like this in Phnom Penh. Most of the smokers I see here are barangs (foreigners) and they do so without any care to those around them. "I have a right to clean air, you know." is what I want to scream at them!

When I watch an old movie from the 40's or 50's I find it appalling to see people smoking everywhere. I can remember going to a doctor's office and patients were smoking in the waiting room. Things sure have changed, for the better.

I'd like to see the "Commit Suicide Here" sign in front of McDs. I'm happy to see smoking on the decline, but I'm not sure I like Big Brother telling me what to do. There's a ton of hypocrisy involved here.

Government warning should be out in that sign, lol!! For we know that they collected a lot of taxes from the cigarette industry. They better put up "commit suicide here continue to smoke" din may ganito pang kasunod "bwahahahaha" Oh di mag isip din yung mga tao ano kaya meaning nang bwahahaha na yan ^_^ Thanks for the visit and Happy Thursday!

Someday it will be safe for nonsmokers -- it takes a while, but it's "safe" most places here now.

On my "sign sign" post, the road deadends at a wetland and then into the Lake. You really can't drive any further.
