BCG Impromptu/Signs

I heard music as I crossed the street to Bonifacio High Street.  I thought it was a band performing at the entertainment center.  I followed where the music was coming from and found a crowd gathered around a quadriplegic singing a Daughtry song.  A microphone was attached to his wheelchair and there were speakers by his feet--he was accompanied by a minus one.  He had a powerful voice, too!

On my next visit to High Street, I saw a juggler and an acoustic trio.  BCG's Impromptu gives unknown street artists a venue to share their passions and show off their exceptional talent and creativity.  Street artists don't have to pay for rent, the space is for free--all they need are their talent, instruments, props and the enthusiasm to perform.

 This is one of my favorite shops---the shop smells soooo good!

W High Street is a sky-scraper at the corner of 28th Street and 11th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City, right beside Bonifacio High Street, an al fresco mall.

I have walked past this building countless of times when I jog/brisk walk around High Street.  And I had been curious about a crowd of well-dressed young people waiting in line at the lobby on some nights.  I would have checked it out but my well-worn running shoes seem out of place.  A wandering night-owl told me recently that there is a lounge bar at the roof-deck of W High Street called Skye, a popular bar in the Manila club scene.  The building itself, in terms of design, is unremarkable.  But I tend to wobble around the corner of this building when I see sleek cars in the Lamborghini and Audi showrooms---they make me whistle under my breath.  Well, a Lamborghini is not exactly in my wish list [driving a Lamborghini around here is reprehensible, in my opinion] but makes me wonder if there is really such a thing as a winning streak.:p

I visited this stuffed toy store recently while looking for a personalized gift for my 10-year old niece.  Here, you get to choose from  their zoo of furry friends, and customize the amount of cotton stuffing, scent, clothes and accessories.  It even comes in a box with its own birth certificate!

One of my favorite restaurants at the Bonifacio High Street.  They serve good food in affordable prices and friendly ambiance.  This was my dinner 3 nights ago.:p

While looking for a place to have lunch at the BHS Central last week, this menuboard caught my attention.  I have heard good things about Nolita's pizza...unfortunately, we were not in the mood for American food that day.  But I like this old-fashioned menuboard, anyway.

Beef with broccoli

I'm sure I have posted beef with broccoli before.  It's one of our favorite dishes when dining in a Chinese restaurant.  This one is from Kirin Chinese Dining in Bonifacio High Street...yes, the one with water on the glass wall.:p  

When Kirin opened in BHS, I had an impression that they're pricey--it's probably the water on the glass wall! *LOL*.  So we never went there and stick to our usual haunts when we want Chinese food.  Then another dinner with girlfriends came up recently and we decided to try Kirin.  Delighted that their prices are almost the same as the other Chinese restaurants, and they have set menus for big groups.  The food and service were good.
