Sign @ Busuanga airport


Sign at the departure area of Busuanga Airport. 

Translation:  Notice:  To stop the spread of a pest Mango Pulp Weevil, bringing out of mangoes and other plants is strictly prohibited.
Mangoes will be confiscated and violators will be fined.

Hmmm... have not seen any signs prohibiting the bringing of fruit WITHIN a country. I have friends who bring pomelo from Davao, for instance. Of mangoes from Iloilo. Is this pest problem only in Busuanga?

i also wondered about that, Francisca. i also bring all kinds of fruits home when i return from the province. i don't know if there is a pest problem in Busuanga.

all i know is that bringing in mangoes in Guimaras is not allowed.
