Don't value comfort over safety. There's no excuse not to wear a life vest on the water.

Haha... I'm the crazy one, perhaps, but I've never worn a life vest willingly and lived my childhood summers in the water. I lived to tell about it. Lesley and I could not go boating together! :-)
You are so right, one minute to fasten on that vest might save a lifetime of pain and sorrow! I feel the same way about wearing helmets on bikes and motorcycles. In CA, it's the law for children to use them when on bikes...but adults don't always do so.
