For what is to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what it is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
~ Kahlil Gibran, On Death
Remembering my father on his 32nd death anniversary.
Tibouchina urvilleana, also called Athens Blue Princess Flower, Glory flower, a South American native, was blooming generously at The Ruins.

This is a pretty, blue flower.
You are lucky to have them; our wildflowers are all gone now.
Have a great weekend!
Beautiful blue flowers, Miranda. We are also going to remember my moms' 12th year death anniversary next week and I am kind of having a blue feeling already for in this time 12 years ago we were are the hospital not knowing if she comes home or not. Happy weekend!!
More Mums
Makes me think of spring instead of fall. Lovely.
Beautiful flower to remember your father by.
I saw a blue color flower too last sunday.
Beautiful quote and tribute to your father.
i have photographed the same flower before. beautiful!
The first time I saw Tibouchina I was mesmerized too. And it was so small yet rare (for me) which I think is what your father was to you. Those with special dads are indeed rare just like mine.
A beautiful little flower with which to remember you father.
Daughters and fathers have special bonds. I miss mine very much.
Such pretty blooms! Very nice tribute to a loved one.
I'm so in love with blue flowers, very rare color for a flower. Thanks for sharing Luna.
Thank you for posting your beautiful flower pictures!!
We will never forget our loved ones who passed away. They are in hearts forever.
Hope you have time to walk with me through our Toronto Botanical Garden.
- Cheers Gisela.
Very lovely purple flowers.
Simply beautiful! Is the fruit edible? I remember during my childhood years, we used to eat fruit from a plant that looks like that.
Visiting from Today's Flower, please come and see some Rose's Disease at my page. Have a blessed Sunday!
What a pretty purple wildflower! I love it when the empty fields in our area are covered with colorful wildflowers in the springtime.
So, so pretty and so true!
Princess Flower is very beautiful!
