Spotted this weathered sign on a gate of a construction site along Ortigas Avenue. It looks like a high-rise is being built here---Team Shobe is history.
I love old weathered singnage like this and hate to see so much of it disappearing! It looks like these gates might date back to the late sixties...good that you got this photo since that's all will be left of them...:)
I guess this is the historic end of the historic hot rides...or something like that. :)
ReplyDeleteIt seems like everything is being taken over by high rises. Good play ;)

ReplyDeleteAm glad to see the faded old sign is still in use even if the business is out of business. I think it is pretty impressive. Genie
ReplyDeleteThose hot rods are history!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what a Hot Ride is :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Hot Rides has been history for a long time.
ReplyDeleteInteresting old sign - with that different "S"!
ReplyDeleteI enlarged the photo and see there is a man sitting on that girder!
Cool sign, it has lots of character. It's a shame it will soon go away.
ReplyDeleteInteresting sign..great photo selection:)
ReplyDeletewow, there really is a man up there! Shobe (little brother)...must be owned by Chinese...
ReplyDeleteI was going to say these painters of hot historic cars forgot to paint their own gate, but then I saw they were history... :-D
ReplyDeleteHow sad that this beautiful sign may soon be a part of the history it advertised. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you got a picture of it before it was gone!!!
After reading through the comments, I went back to the picture and sure enough - there is a man up there on the girder! What a wonderful shot!
