@ mirandablue Allamanda cathartica, Golden Trumpet, Yellow Bell |
Allamanda cathartica is notable for its medicinal properties; all parts of the plant contain allamandin, a toxic iridoid lactone. The leaves, roots and flowers maybe used in the preparation of a powerful cathartic (hence the name); the milky sap is also known to possess anti-bacterial and possibly anti-cancer properties. Gardeners exposed to the sap will develop rashes, itch and blisters. (Source: Wiki)

Is this from your garden? It is easily available in our country but somehow not available in my garden yet.
We have one in our garden too.
hello, One. this was from my aunt's garden. i live in a building, i only have a few pots of herbs at the roof top.:p
Das ist eine wundervolle Blüte....solche exotischen Blumen gibt es leider nicht in meinem Garten...super...
Danke für deinen Besuch auf meinem Blog...

So very beautiful. I would love to have these in my garden. The Today's Flowers link seems to be open now. I'm sorry you had a problem accessing it but it should be okay now. Please let me know if it is still a problem and I will do my best to help.

thanks for stopping by :)
The flowers are so beautiful. They are a bright light.
i think that's a yellow bell :) very pretty :)
A very pretty shape and beautiful golden colour! Some interesting information too!
It's such a pretty yellow, isn't it. You may recall I posted the golden trumpet last week. It was a huge plant reaching over the gate to our old house, so warm and inviting. Last week the owners tore the whole thing down... :-(
Wow, I miss these flowers! They're beautiful, especially when they bloom thickly. Great shots!
This flower is beautiful and I haven't seen any color other than yellow. ^_^
MYM
@ Kim, i have seen the red variety--not really red, it's more of an old rose.

A few pots of herbs on the roof top sounds good. Once upon a time, I only had a few pots at my balcony.

It is also lovely sideways. I shot it from the back against the sky, and lovely too!
