I have no idea what this pasta dish is called in Korean. The sauce has squid, cabbage and possibly chili powder, a lot of it. It was excessively spicy I've lost all feeling on my tongue! I love spicy food but couldn't tolerate this one. And I made a mistake of sipping cheap sake to cool off my burning tongue. It tasted like a 3-day old tuba, an alcoholic drink from the sap of coconut tree that turns sour after 2 to 3 days---so different from the sake I had before.
This was my Korean misadventure.

i am sorry about your misadventure about korean foods...my friends and i had experienced something like that before when we tried this new korean resto here in penh but the presentation looks really yummy! anyway, i love bibimbap, its not spicy so i can eat it all...:) happy food trip friday!
hmmmm...still, it looks good!
did the sake really taste that bad (like a 3-day old tuba)? the only tuba that i really liked is the 'white' one...a caretaker at the farm used to make his own, and he used to give us kids (it was way way way back then, lol) 'fresh' tuba. it was really sweet...
does look like kimchi :D and I'm not much of a fan hehe...next time write them a feedback ;) if there is a next time...
I guess mumurahin na sake ang nai-serve sa yo--expensive sake here really tastes good!I would even recommend them to friends^_^
I hate Spicy food!Although the photo looks so yummy but as they say, looks are decieving.lol!
In fairness, the presentation does look yummy. Sorry for the misadventure, though. I have a high tolerance for spicy food but I may not like this if this is excessively spicy.
Happy Food Trip Friday! Hope you can also visit my entry here.

Clarissa, yes it was cheap sake.:p my friends were experimenting, and i was one of the victims.
anu yan ..wow mali... naku di ko kaya ang spicyness ng korean food.. I've ate once thier kimchi.. obvious di ako koreana .. di kaya..hahahah... pero ang ganda tingnan ha.
Kimchi pasta?
The only time I ate at a Korean own restaurant, their dishes were a little sweet, but of course, that is because I didn't order any of their spicy dishes. I like spicy foods, but sometimes I don't like it if the dish is spicy from the start. Mas gusto ko yung ako maglalagay na pampaanghang, para kung mainit na ang mouth ko, I can still eat the remaining foods na hindi maanghang.
my Food Trip Friday post
Yay I don't like spicy foods hehehe. But oh well sometimes we need to have misadventures to know the dish. Thanks for the visit!
Looks yummy food. Happy FF!
Mine is here
wow, sounds interesting- first time ive heard of the korean version of pasta. Looks like a crossover between kimchi and spaghetti to me.
Happy FTF, here's my entry, hope you'd check it out too
It looks delicate to me, but well.. after I've read what you wrote....
I used to like much spicy food, but less now, just a little.... ;)
so sorry to hear about that. I too love spicy food, but I have not had any Korean food either. Maybe you could have asked for a glass of milk then to help counter act the spicy-ness? hehehe.. Anyway, so sorry about that. Have a great weekend!
